I’m Just Here for the Patterns

I was just going to get some patterns, honest.  Then I got to Joann’s and couldn’t find the list I had made.  I did manage to remember two of the ones I wanted, so I pulled those from the drawer.

Then I walked by the remnant bin to see what they had.  There were a few nice prints. I allowed myself to pick out a couple.

How could I resist those greens?  The jacobean floral really caught my eye with its warm fall colors.   And the script print?  That was just different enough to snag.

Walking out to the car I looked at the receipt and thought the numbers weren’t adding up right.  How did that $12 print end up costing me under $3?

It had been a really long day so I took myself of to the nearest coffee spot and ordered a cafe mocha and watched it rain.  I thought about the fabric and came to the conclusion that remnants were ringing up at 75% off not the usual 50%.  So my thrifty mind brain said I needed to go back and buy more.

My second pass through and I chose this lot.  These are mostly what I would consider neutrals.  Bland and boring, good for mixing with more interesting prints to provide contrast.

Ok, good.  But they did not ring up at the price I was expecting.  I checked the receipt, this time with caffeine in my system.  Yup, they were half price, just as advertised. I checked my other receipt.  I can’t do math and shouldn’t attempt it while tired and trying to walk at the same time.  Lesson learned:  use the calculator that comes with your phone.
