Jewel Box, aka quilt #3

I’ve been working on this since early in the year.  I bought most of the fabric two years ago at a Joann’s fat quarter sale.  I had plans for it and got excited and bought way more than I needed.   My inspiration was this design on the Accuquilt web site:

I liked the play of color against the neutrals, but I couldn’t find a “good” brown to work with.  So I went with white and grey, giving it a bit of a modern feel.  I started with squares:

I did not have plans for how large I wanted to make it. I figured I would sew until I ran out of fabric and that would be it. Today I completed the last set of blocks and it comes out to 6×8, or 48″x 64″.  Unless I can find more of the grey print at JA, it’s not going to get bigger.
