Half Square to Nowhere

Mystery Quilt, part two

I’ve been working on the mystery quilt each month as instructions are mailed to me.  I can’t say it’s been exciting.  So far it is mostly half square triangles, which are just about the most boring thing ever.  But I can sew them a few at time when I have ten minutes to spare, so making progress is easy.  I usually get through each month’s instructions in a day or two.

This month we are assembling another segment:

Here they are all laid out on the ironing board.  I thought maybe the design was going to be some sort of star or pinwheel, with all the points, but I can’t see where this is going.

Scrappy HST

As much as I hate HSTs, they make a fast and easy quilt if they are large enough.  I’m still cranking these out for a donation top.  Lots of random bright scraps and charm squares.
