Mini Bunny House

This is a kit I picked up last year. They are all over various internet sales sites.  I thought it would keep me occupied during the long winter, being stuck inside due to COVID and weather.  Then I forgot about it.

Now it’s summer and we’re stuck inside due to COVID and the weather, so I got it out.  Things have been a bit stressful, and one of the ways I reduce stress is by focusing intently on a project.  This projects demands a careful hand and full attention.  For starters, it has a ton of tiny delicate pieces.

I began by carefully cutting out the background pages and gluing them inside. Then there was some trickery with miniature lighting which gets assembled and glued inside.

I very slowly began assembling the house, over a period of days. I joke that my hobby is watching glue dry, but that is a very important step.  Each piece must be solidly attached before moving to the next step.   Rushing things is how mistakes get made.

With the structure of the house complete it is on to the furnishings.  There are several rooms worth of tiny furniture to build, as well as an outdoor scene with a garden swing.  Did I mention that the pieces are very tiny?  Here I am holding with tweezers a tiny shelf, with plates and a vase, a hanging pan and a towel.
