Prairie Queen

This is the final block in my Christmas quilt makeover, Prairie Queen.  It is a mixture of 90’s prints and a modern snowman fabric that was too cute to not use at least a little bit of.

I had a hard time choosing the fabrics to use, since I am working with scraps and charm squares, and a few fat quarters. I needed to find the right fabrics, that looked well together, which I still had enough of to get all the pieces from.  The red is the same print from the Poinsettia block. The green print with snowmen came from a friend’s stash. The light green pinecone print came as a charm square, just large enough to get the 4 squares I needed!

We’re still using the old quilt.  It’s been a 2-quilt kind of winter.  So until spring this project is on hold.
