Slowly making progress on the donation quilt for the guild. It’s ugly, no doubt about that. I was told it was so that people don’t steal them from the hospice care center. It’s sad that people would do that, but I think it is also sad to have something that looks like this on your bed. I’ve been having trouble keeping motivated on this one. It’s supposed to be easy to sew, but it’s just so awful looking and boring.
What do you think? If you were dying in hospice care would this quilt cheer you up?
This is my own sad ugly quilt. I made it back in 1994 or so, and it has seen years and years of use, as you can tell. Some of the fabric has worn right through. I did some patching about 4 years ago, but it is time for another round of love. There is a little of the original fabric left, and I will be hand sewing patches over the original squares.
