Did a little shopping yesterday and picked up this red print to use as the binding on the pinwheel quilt.  Nothing I had was quite right, or large enough.  I also picked up the floral remnant, maybe to use as part of the backing.  Most of the fabrics I plan on using are pretty plain.

 

The yellow and the batik were too fun to pass up. It’s hard to find good yellows sometimes.

I’ve been inspired by these modern quilt images online, and I want to do something similar in concept.  Large pieces of backing, contrast, and diagonal lines. It makes both sides of the quilt interesting, and it makes the backing less of an afterthought.
